Dr. Best is the first female president in the 50-year history of the Emergency Physicians of Tidewater, her independent, democratic EM group of over 150 providers. She has brought a modern approach to the challenges independent groups face in the business of healthcare today. She has served in multiple leadership roles that have paved the way for her continued success despite the pressures of the pandemic and the unique tests presented to new leaders. Dr. Best is an assistant professor at the Eastern Virginia Medical School/Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
