About EDPMA

The Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA) is the nation’s only professional physician trade association focused on the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care in the emergency department. EDPMA’s membership includes emergency medicine physician groups of all sizes and ownership models, as well as billing, coding, and other professional support organizations that assist healthcare providers in our nation’s emergency departments. And an important tenet of EDPMA’s governance structure that every Board member receives one vote, irrespective of the size or member category of the organization they represent.

Together, EDPMA members see or support 60% of all annual emergency department (ED) visits in the country and provide direct patient care to 40% of all ED visits.

From advocacy to education, EDPMA provides unmatched access to decision makers, monitors federal and state activity, educates on best practices, and keeps you up-to-date on the key issues and services affecting your business and your bottom line.

Mission

The mission of the Emergency Department Practice Management Association is to advocate for Emergency Department physician groups and their business partners to enhance quality patient care through operational excellence and financial stability.

Successful Advocacy – EDPMA is your voice before Congress, CMS, State-level decision makers, and private payers on Medicare and Medicaid Reimbursement, Quality Reporting, Documentation Requirements, Provider Enrollment, and more.

Keeping You Informed – With Federal and State Governments busily implementing the Affordable Care Act and the private sector finding creative ways to take the lead, EDPMA keeps you up-to-date with newsletters, interactive monthly committee meetings, regular email alerts, social media posts, and website updates.

Governance

EDPMA is an association incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is governed by an elected Board of Directors pursuant to the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. In addition, EDPMAs Board of Directors has identified formal policies that govern the dynamics of the national association.
